My Moving Story

我這一年的生活很特別，與已經過去的那些年相比較，有很多的不一樣的地方。

This year was very different from all the other years.

我們從蒙特利爾搬到了多倫多。平時去多倫多，我總是特別興奮，可這一次，我卻更想留在蒙特利爾。因為這次不是去度假，而是為了上學。我們沒去 Claw and Kitty、CN 塔這些好玩的地方，所以一點都不輕松。

We moved from Montreal to Toronto. Usually, I feel so excited to visit Toronto, but this time I really wanted to stay in Montreal. That’s because this time we didn’t come for a vacation. Instead of going to Claw and Kitty, the CN Tower, and all the fun places, we came here for school. It just wasn’t as fun.

從去年的9月開始，我們入住公寓，迄今整整一年。以前，我從沒住過公寓。那種地方窄小，吵鬧，還沒有空調。不過，也有很多好的地方，距市中心很近，購物比較方便，可以與更多的人交朋友，尤其是過萬圣節，過圣誕節，過新年的日子里，感覺很熱鬧，很好玩，處處都充滿了節日的氣氛。到了今年三月的時候，爸爸媽媽告訴我，我們有了新的房子，夏天就要搬進去。這令我感到高興。

For one whole year, we lived in an apartment. I had never lived in one before. It was small, noisy, and had no AC. We spent Halloween, Christmas, and New Year’s in that apartment. Then, in March, my parents told me that we had bought a house and would move in during the summer.

“寶貝，你是不是很期待搬出公寓呀？” 媽媽問我。

“Hey sweetie, are you excited to move out of our apartment?” Mom asked.

“是的，可我也會想念這里，因為我們一起在這里過過節日。”

“Yes, but I’ll also miss it because we spent holidays here together.”

媽媽聽了，格格地笑了。

Mom smiled.

這三個月里，我和姐姐一直在計劃房間的布置。我們給房間的墻挑了顏色，我選的是粉色。我還在 AliExpress、Temu 和 Shein 上找裝飾。我挑了 Hello Kitty 的小夜燈、美樂蒂的筆筒、小貓爪的地毯、漂浮云朵裝飾，還有 Hello Kitty 的桌墊。我的床腳邊，還會有一個白色毛絨絨的豆袋椅。所有這些東西，會讓我的房間變得超級可愛！

For the past three months, my sister and I have been planning our room décor. We picked out wall colors—I chose pink. I looked on AliExpress, Temu, and Shein for decorations. I found Hello Kitty night lights, My Melody pen holders, kitty paw rugs, floating clouds, and a Hello Kitty desk mat. I will even have a white fluffy beanbag chair at the foot of my bed. All these things will make my room look much cuter!

離搬家只剩兩天了。我希望在新房間的第一個晚上，會特別美好。我想象著自己準備好睡覺，躺在被窩里，等媽媽來給我一個晚安吻。她親了我一下，關掉燈，輕輕離開。我會想著開心的事，好讓自己更快睡著——這是小時候姐姐教我的小技巧。

Now there are only two more days until we move in. I hope my very first night in my new room will be special! I imagine myself getting ready for bed, lying under the covers, waiting for a goodnight kiss from Mom. She kisses me, turns off the light, and leaves. I try to think of happy things so I can fall asleep faster—that’s a trick my sister taught me when I was younger.

可是三十分鐘過去了，我還是沒睡著。平時我五分鐘就能睡著的呀！又過了一小時，我翻身一看，時鐘指向22:30。我輕輕穿上拖鞋，偷偷溜去看姐姐。結果她也還沒睡。

But thirty minutes pass, and I’m still awake. Usually, I fall asleep in five minutes! Then an hour passes. I roll over and see the clock: 22:30. Quietly, I put on my slippers and sneak into my sister’s room. She’s awake too!

“姐姐，你也還沒有入睡呀？” 我小聲的問。

“You’re not asleep yet?” I whisper.

“是的，因為我實在是太興奮了。” 她如實地對我回答。

“No, I’m too excited,” she whispers back.

我坐在她的床上，兩個人聊啊聊。突然看見時鐘指向 23:35。糟糕，太晚了！我聽見媽媽那輕輕的腳步聲，正朝這邊走過來。我趕緊溜回房間，鉆進被子里裝睡。聽見她推開姐姐的門，小聲說了幾句。然后，屋子漸漸安靜下來。

We sit on her bed and talk. Suddenly, her clock shows 11:35. Oh no—it’s way too late! I hear Mom’s soft footsteps coming down the hallway. I run back to my room, slip under the blankets, and pretend to be asleep. I hear her checking on my sister, faint voices whispering, and then the house slowly grows quiet again.

忽然，我聽見窗外傳來輕輕的鳥叫聲，慢慢越來越響亮。陽光照進來，亮得我睜開眼睛。我發現自己竟然一覺睡到了天亮！抬頭一看，有三只小鳥正在吃東西——那是因為我在窗邊放了喂鳥器。

Then I hear gentle chirps outside my window. They grow louder and louder until sunlight streams into my room. I open my eyes and see three little birds eating from the feeder I placed outside my window.

這就是我想象中搬進新房的第一個夜晚。

This is what I imagine my very first night will be like.

從蒙特利爾到多倫多，從公寓到新家，我發現：改變其實沒有那么糟。每個人都只有一次人生，所以要勇敢去嘗試改變。

From Montreal to Toronto, from an apartment to a house, I realized: change is not that bad. Every person only has one life, so we should be brave enough to embrace change.
